Once upon a time in a beautiful garden in the small village of West Mozambique, there lived a family of snails next to a small pond. They adopted a slug and raised him as their own. “We’ll call you Sam”, they said. Sam grew older, the older he grew the fatter and slimier he got and the snails teased Sam with the nickname they gave him, Slimy Sam. “Slimy Sam, Fat Sam, Slimy Sam, Fat Sam”, they would sing. Sam grew older with a grudge against the garden snails. He planned his revenge.
He eventually grew old enough to leave the house and Sam built his own leaf house next to the small pond where all the nicest leaves fall when the birds are playing in the high trees. Everyday he would steal and take some of the other garden snails leaves’ in the garden that they saved for the cold dry winter times, when there are no green leaves left. One day Sam realized that he ate all the food and only his house was left. All the food they stored are gone, not even one leave was left. He became so hungry that he stared at his house, not seeing a house anymore but only leaves. He started to eat his house and when he finally realized , his house was totally consumed. Every garden snail in the garden was so cross when they found out that he took the leaves, especially his foster parents. The whole garden chased him away and told him to never come back.
Days and nights went by as he walk all alone. On the 3 night the moon reflected on a not so big glass house. Ooh the beauty that he found wasn’t just a glass house but a beautiful garden, with every plant alive and the leaves greener than ever for Autumn time. Happy Sam was in the new garden he found but as the time passed he got lonely and he started to feel bad for eating all the leaves up. All alone with only the sky light coming through the window he sat at on a rack and looked at the crescent moon thinking of his snail family. With his whole heart he wanted to fix things.
As fast as he could go he went back to this childhood garden where all the snails still lived. He apologized for eating all the leaves and with excitement he told them about the beautiful garden in the glass house that he found. He asked them to join him there and told them that it would be better and saver to live out of the sun,rain and wind. He promised them he would never do anything like that ever again.
With doubt they followed him to this mysterious garden in a glass house. Every snail, youngest of the young to oldest of the elderly, came along. The days and night went by, but when the snails finally saw the garden they where shocked at how breathtaking it was. The snails and Sam lived happily in their new garden for years. The snails never teased Sam again and Sam never took anything else from the other snails. It is now the 4th summer in the garden and some worms and insects have joined the glass house family.

SHERLOCK HOLMES,
A Study in Scarlet:
Stamford, an old acquaintance of Dr Watson, introduced Dr Watson and Holmes. Both Holms and Watson are on the lookout for some accommodation at a reasonable cost. When they first met Holmes correctly identified Watson as an disabled, injured ex-army doctor. They found a residence at 221B Baker Street.Watson soon realises a great number of people seem to visit Holmes, but Watson is never present at these meetings. Watson observed the wide range knowledge of Holmes.
Watson is invited to a crime scene after he is told that Holmes is the world’s only Consulting Detective. At the scene, the body of Enoch Drebber is found, as well as Rache, German for revenge, in blood. Symptoms of poisoning is recognises and a trap set for the murderer. A woman’s wedding ring has been left behind on the scene and is invited to collect it. The trap fails, as it was an old woman collect it. Holmes suspects that the woman was an accomplice, rather than the murderer herself. Gregson and Lestrade are pursuing their own suspects. Gregson having gone so far as to arrest one of these suspects, although it is the wrong man.
Drebber’s friend Stangerson is found dead due to poisoning, with the word Rache. Holmes discover some pills, one pill is poison and one is harmless. Holmes is holding the cab driver, Jefferson Hope accountable for the murderers of Drebber and Stangerson.
A flashback to Utah about 34 years earlier when the tale of a rescue by Mormons is told. It’s about John Ferrier and a girl called Lucy. Lucy was the love of Jefferson Hope, but Lucy is married off to Drebber, in preference to Stangerson. Stangerson is confessed to have murdered John Ferrier. Lucy died a few months of a “broken heart”. Hope promise that he will get revenge on Drebber and Stangerson for the rest of his life. Hope work as a cab driver to narrow down the search of the 2 men. He had got occasions to kill them. Hope explained that he gave the men a choice of a pill, one to live and one to die. Stangerson tried to overpower Hope and that is why he had been stabbed. Hope got arrested but died before his trail from an aneurysm in the heart.
In the first section of Sherlock Holmes, A Study in Scarlet, the following analysis examines the following themes. Deductive/abductive reasoning. Holmes success in solving crimes originate from his ability to analyze small pieces of evidence and draw conclusion from them. Holmes story begins with a display of Holmes’ amazing abilities. Holmes refers to his skills as reasoning backwards, not forwards. Revenge. Holmes comes to the conclusion that it is either politics or love that motivates the murderer of Drebber and Stangerson. Hope is motivated by love, that leads to revenge. Hopes’ passion for revenge motivates him. Forensic science, Friendship and more.
Blacksad,
Somewhere in the shadows:
John Blacksad is a very tough private investigator with a rough background. In the first volume of Blacksad, Somewhere in the shadows, we found out that Blacksad investigates the murder of the famous actress Natalia Willford. Before her death they used to be involved, he was first her bodyguard but then they got more intimate.
His first inspection leads him to a screenwriter and her last known lover, Léon Kronski, who has disappeared. When he finds Kronski, Kronski was already dead and buried under a fake name. Blacksad is arrested after the he was beaten up by two hired men. Smirnov, a police commissioner, explains to Blacksad that he himself cannot investigate the murder any further and Smirnov offers him a deal, beneficial to both sides.
As Blacksad returns home, a goanna hitman and a rat goon attempt to kill him. Blacksad shoots and kills the rat, interrogates the dying goanna and uncovers that the richest and most powerful businessman of the city, Ivo Statoc thefrog, who considers himself above any law is the culprit behind everything. Statoc shot the actress himself because of her infidelity. Blacksad confronts cold-blooded Statoc after brutally infiltrating the office suite at the top of his skyscraper. Statoc first offers him a job, and later a bribe but Blacksad rejects both offers as a matter of principle. Blacksad shoots Statoc in the head an the police arrange it so it appears to be a suicide.
In the first book of Blacksad, Somewhere in the shadows, the following analysis examines three elements in terms of how they contribute to the representation of power, morality and justice. With the selection and representation of the different animals for each of the characters are discussed as a device which can both contributes to and unsettles the readers’ recognition between good and evil. Characters’ choices become more complex and questionable. At the same time their graphical depiction is altered so that the different aspects of their animal characteristics come forward. This aspect of the series speaks to the inconsistency of justice as applied within the law, in comparison to the moral ideal of equality that the central character, were he not so boring and disillusioned, would aspire to.
The the use of different backgrounds, including the interior and urban space, abortive subdivision development in Arctic-Nation contributes to the development of readers understanding of the characters social position, and to the legibility of social context of the scenes that advance the plot. The characters differences of their social importance and the economic scenery of the society present a critique of capitalist without morals and its concentration of power and wealth.
The text clearly states references to different concepts of law, justice and morality that are compared to the moral judgments about characters and their choices which are clearly represented through the visual narrative and plot.

5 Premises for Short Story
Story 1
Once upon a time there were 2 little children, Lily (8) and Jack (10), lived on a cornfield farm. Everyday they would run out to play in the fields. The cornfields were very dried out because of the extensive heat and lack of rain. One day a terrible thunderstorm broke out and the field caught fire. The children ran towards the barn and Lily tripped over a log and fell. The smoke hanged in the air and Jack could not see where Lily is. He searched till he found her and carried her to the barn. It started to rain so hard that it killed the fire. Both the children survived but would always remember the terrible experience.
Story 2
Once upon a time there was a fat, insecure monster ,Alex Ivory, that was bullied by his fellow monster students. Alex was really talented but never participated in any musical event until the one day when his friend Hugo Jerimoth A.K.A the Skeleton suggested to start a 2 man band. Alex was not very keen at the beginning but eventually gave in to the idea. They practiced hard everyday. on their first gig they impressed so much that they become instant wonders.

Once upon a time there was a little fled-market on a street in Brazil. Everyday Fernando would go to his little market and sell his homemade breads. Working hard and trying to save money to open his own bakery shop. One day a very rich man on vacation tried one of this breads. The man was so impressed that he gave Fernando a business proposal. He could not refuse the mans offer for it is his dream to have a shop. Fernando made a huge success of the bakery and gave every cent back to the rich man.
Story 5
Once upon a time there was a beautiful jukebox in a pub. The locals called her Ellie. Everyday a vinyl would be played by Georgie. One day Georgie bumped into Ellie and the vinyl scratch. Ellie broke more and more as Georgie used her. Until one day when Ellie was not able to be used ever again.
The Hero’s Journey Within, Act 1
William Kentridge Exhibit
GOODMAN GALLERY JOHANNESBURG presented an art exhibit of William Kentridge, Notes Towards a Model Opera. The exhibit was show cased between 21 January – 12 February 2016. This was premiered at Ullens Centre for Contemporary Art in Beijjing, National Museum and Contemporary Art in Seoul.
T
he exhibit is based on drawings and paintings, sculptures and three-channel projection with films. The Three-channel projection explore dynamics of cultural diffusion and metamorphosis through the formal prism of the eight model operas of Cultural Revolution. Every artwork is unique but still connects to the film. Although I struggled at first to see the connection between the artworks, it later become more clearly that this exhibit is political based. Kentrige used Chinese and African people and a bird in this exhibit, used it very well to show the connection between these cultural contents.
Kentridge use a beautiful African ballet dancer Dada Masilo in his film. She is dressed in
some type of soldiers uniform mixed with lively colours of the African culture. Example, Photo. This is followed up with maps and painted animation of a bird flying and phrases in Asian and English that appears on the screen. The film is complimented by the music. The film shows the opinion of transformation
of ballet as it transplanted across the globe, an arch of influence contrasting contexts as Moscow, Shanghai and Johannesburg.
He uses
series of cut-out silhouettes in steel, ink drawings of founded paper -as torn out pages of bird encyclopedias and recycled paper- as well as portraits of key figures within both the Cultural Revolution in China and the struggle for independence in the Africa continent. He uses text sourced from China parables, Tang Dynasty poetry and Maoist slogans.
From this exhibit I found that Kentridge used a lot of symbols and metaphors for all the people who don’t speak Chinese. I find that the metaphor for the bird represents the freedom for China and African cultures, both cultures where suppressed for a long time. In some of the artworks Kentridge say’s “there was no epiphany”, “whispering in the leaves” and “who needs words?”. What I think he meant by this phrases is that no matter how hard they try to let the people hear there voices, the people never come to realization. They where not noticed like the leaves isn’t noticed in the wind. All the wanted was to see change, they felt like words mean nothing. People only started to realized and listen after these cultures protested several times and kept on trying till the situation changed from suppressed to democratic. The bird represents all the people who stood up against wrong and learn how to be in depended and free from there situation.They where not just physically free from suppression but they where mentally and emotionally free.
I think this exhibit is beautifully planned from the artworks to all the researched that went into the artworks and exhibit self. William Kentridge still keep surprising and amusing us with his amazing artworks today as he did when he first started.
